BMW India will showcase the i8 hybrid supercar at the upcoming Auto Expo which begins in the first week of February. The i8, a halo product for BMW globally, will become BMW India’s flagship car when its launched later on and prices are estimated at INR 1.5 crores ex-showroom.
I8 super car has been developed mostly by using carbon fibre body in order to reduce the overall weight which will in turn help the vehicle to be much quicker and fuel efficient. Under the hood, the new i8 hybrid super car comes powered with a 1.5 litre 3 cylinder twin power turbo petrol engine that is capable of generating around 231 hp of power at the peak along with 320 Nm of torque. Another electric motor accompanies the petrol engine and it adds 131 hp of power along with 250 Nm of torque additionally. The combined power output of the i8 hybrid is around 362 hp and the maximum torque is around 570 Nm.
