Mahindra & Mahindra is really pushing its alternative propulsion technology at the Auto Expo 2014. First was the hybrid version of the XUV500 and the company’s electric Formula E racing car, which were showcased yesterday, and now, the company has unveiled a slew of EVs from its electric division Mahindra Reva.
Mahindra Halo, a two-door, two-seater electric sports car concept.
Mahindra says that the concept will see the light of production and from what we can see of the car it looks absolutely terrific. It’s stylish and the designers from Pininfarina and Bertone, who are a part of Mahindra Reva’s in-house design team, have done an exceptional job to make it look radical and give it that sports car feel.
It car do the 0-100kph sprint in 9 seconds and reach a top speed of 160 kmph claims Mahindra. Agreed it isn’t technically sportscar quick but why wouldn’t you want a car that looks as good as the Halo, is decently quick and potentially more efficient than the conventional hatchback. It also has a bigger range than the e2o hatchback. The Halo will be available with two range options – one will have between 100 to 150km and the top-end model will have a range of 200km.
