M G Motor India Ltd – a subsidiary of China’s SAIC Motor Corporation Ltd recently unveiled its one of the first experience center and dealership in Gurgaon before the company officially kick starts its retail operations in India. Auto Mobile manufacturer will commence with a network of 120 premium dealerships in India and will ram up to 250 by September, 2019.
Along with the inauguration of the first experience center the company has also started accepting bookings of its first vehicle Hector – a mid-size compact utility vehicle. Customers can take test drives of the revolutionary internet car from June 12, 2019.
MG’s first flagship store, which will also accommodate the brand’s sales operations, is a sharp departure from a typical car showroom. Promising a fresh automotive experience to all visitors, the store has been designed under the brand’s “Emotional Dynamism” philosophy with contemporary brand elements and slick color palettes, the company said in a press statement.

The Iconic British Car manufacturer also shifted to a new office property in Gurugram which will act as the headquarters of the India operations and will be owned by the company, indicating the commitment to the Indian market. The Shanghai based parent company invested ₹150 crore for the new India headquarters and the experience center.
“Our first interaction with the customers in a creative and experiential environment is essential for the MG brand and creates a strong foundation as we begin our journey in India. The one-of-its-kind flagship experience store redefines the traditional car buying experience in India, in line with the demands and requirements of new-age customers,” said Rajeev Chaba, president and managing director, MG Motor India.

M G Motors first product will compete with the likes of Fiat Chrysler’s Jeep Compass, Mahindra’s XUV 500 and Tata Motor’s Hexa. The company has taken over the manufacturing capacity of General Motors in Gujarat and will start with a capacity of 80000 units on a yearly basis.
To develop a perfect niche for itself in the Indian market Morris Garages will also launch its first electric vehicle – expected to be priced below ₹10 lakh – in India after the launch if it first vehicle Hector. To showcase its technological prowess, the company will offer a petrol hybrid power train with its first product, a first for the Indian market.
