Skoda India will launch the refreshed 2014 Superb in the first quarter of this year. The facelifted Superb was unveiled in Europe in April last year, with sales and deliveries commencing soon after.
Skoda India have now begun teasing the refreshed Superb through popular social media channels such as Facebook and Twitter, hinting that the launch is not far away. We expect to see the 2014 Superb at the Auto Expo next month, and the company could also announce the prices of the car at the same event.
Skoda India has previewed the facelifted 2014 Skoda Superb on their Facebook page. This model is expected to keep the model ‘fresh’ till an all-new Superb is unveiled next year. With the facelift set to be launched at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo, Skoda continues to sell the current Superb, which is still being listed on its official website.
The Superb facelift will come with exterior changes such as an all-new grille with the new Skoda logo, head and fog-lamps, re-profiled bumper, front fenders and bonnet. The updated car will also get bi-xenon headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights.
The rear styling also gets tweaked in the form of re-shaped tail-lamps which mimic the shape of high-end Audis and get new inserts with LED elements.
Tweaks to the interior include a new four-spoke steering wheel, new gear lever, new colour schemes and now, the front passenger seat can also be moved from the rear electronically. There’s also an automatic reverse parking system.
The facelifted Superb will continue to be offered with the same engine options when it is launched here. This includes a 1.8-litre TSI petrol engine, a 2.0-litre TDI and a 3.6-litre V6 petrol engine. The TSI motor comes with the option of a six-speed manual or a seven-speed DSG auto ‘box, while the 2-litre diesel and the 3.6-litre V6 is available with a six-speed DSG only.
