Maruti’s upcoming hatchback, which is believed to be called Celerio in India, has been spotted for the first time during what seems to be a photo shoot.
Maruti’s not so popular model A-Star might soon be replaced by the upcoming ‘Celerio` in India as per media reports.
Two months back, reports had surfaced in the media that the A-Star might have its replacement with the A: Wind. However, new reports now say that Celerio, which has been made on the same platform as A: Wind, will be the substitution for A-Star.
The Maruti Suzuki Celerio will use the popular K10 petrol engine and will be offered with a choice of a manual or an automatic transmission. A diesel variant is expected to be added at a later stage. Suzuki has been independently working on a sub-1-litre oiler that will power its range of entry-level small cars.
The Celerio codenamed YL7, will début at the Delhi Auto Expo 2014 in February.
